Das Start-up Black Semiconductor hat in Aachen mit dem Bau einer eigenen Chipfabrik begonnen. Damit wagt erstmals ein junges Unternehmen in Deutschland diesen Schritt.

Daniel Schall, Chef und Mitgründer von Black Semiconductor, sagte, dass die Firma Ende des Jahres die ersten Wafer in der Hand halten werde, wenn alles nach Plan laufe.

Bauarbeiter rückten im Frühjahr an, um eine ehemalige Fabrik für Elektroautos in einen Reinraum umzuwandeln.

Andere Chipkonzerne wie Infineon und TSMC errichten derzeit Werke in Dresden. Die meisten erfolgreichen Halbleiterfirmen verzichten auf eigene Produktion.
