Une femme de Floride condamnée pour la mort par famine d'un garçon

Une propriétaire d'une entreprise de soins de santé de 49 ans en Floride a été condamnée jeudi après avoir plaidé coupable à des chefs d'accusation incluant le meurtre au troisième degré dans l'affaire de la mort par famine d'un garçon de 7 ans.

Mirlande Moltimer, propriétaire de Samaritin Home Health Care, purgera 20 mois dans une prison d'État, suivis de 16 mois dans une prison fédérale. Elle devra également effectuer sept ans de probation et verser plus de 25 000 dollars de restitution. La sentence découle d'un accord de plaidoyer couvrant à la fois les affaires étatiques et fédérales liées au décès de Deonte Atwell le jour de Noël 2023.
