L'Allemagne consacre actuellement 751 milliards d'euros aux prestations sociales. Les dépenses augmentent particulièrement pour l'allocation chômage I, les allocations de soins et l'aide sociale.

L'Office fédéral de la statistique a publié les derniers chiffres. Selon ces données, le niveau des prestations dépend de la situation du marché du travail, de la participation à l'emploi, de l'inflation et de l'évolution démographique. Les dépenses augmentent tout particulièrement pour l'allocation chômage I, les allocations de soins et l'aide sociale. En revanche, les coûts d'une autre prestation diminuent légèrement. L'autorité souligne que les décisions politiques n'expliquent qu'une partie de cette tendance. Des facteurs économiques et sociaux jouent également un rôle.
