Le gouvernement s'engage à améliorer les bénéfices communautaires et le mode de vie

L'administrateur en chef de l'État régional Afar, Ato Awel Arba, a déclaré que le gouvernement travaille avec une attention particulière et un engagement ferme pour améliorer le statut global des bénéficiaires et le mode de vie de la communauté.

Ato Awel Arba a fait ces remarques lors de l'inauguration de projets d'eau potable dans les woredas de Dulcha et d'Amibara, situés dans la zone de Gabi Rasu, aux côtés du ministre de l'Irrigation et des Zones de terres basses, le Dr Abraham Belay. Les projets réduisent le fardeau des femmes et des enfants qui devaient auparavant parcourir de longues distances pour trouver de l'eau. Ils aident également à prévenir les maladies d'origine hydrique et permettent aux enfants de consacrer leur temps à l'éducation. Les projets d'irrigation associés visent à favoriser une transition du pastoralisme vers un mode de vie semi-agricole en réduisant les déplacements entre les sites et en fournissant une base pour une vie stable.

Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh has inaugurated the rehabilitated and expanded Tendaho irrigation development project in Dubti woreda, Afar Region. Afar Region President Awel Arba and Water and Environment Minister Dr. Abraham Belay attended the event. The project has a capacity for 60,000 hectares, with 33,000 hectares now ready for irrigation.

Afar Regional State Administrator Awel Arba stated that the region's people have gained full self-administration and ownership rights in politics and governance after recent reforms.
