Selon Awel Arba, le peuple afar est passé du partenariat à la propriété suite aux réformes

L'administrateur de l'État régional afar, Awel Arba, a déclaré que la population de la région a obtenu la pleine autonomie administrative ainsi que des droits de propriété en matière de politique et de gouvernance après les récentes réformes.

Awel Arba a tenu ces propos lors d'un rassemblement de soutien au Parti de la prospérité organisé à Semera Logia, dans la zone de Dubti, dans la région Afar.

Il a souligné que les revenus régionaux sont passés de 790 millions de birrs en 2010 (calendrier éthiopien) à 8 milliards de birrs. La superficie des terres agricoles cultivées a augmenté, passant de 53 000 hectares à 138 000 hectares.

La culture du blé couvre désormais plus de 16 500 hectares, avec une récolte de 276 000 quintaux. Un nouveau centre de services à guichet unique a également commencé ses opérations afin d'améliorer les services publics.

Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh has inaugurated the rehabilitated and expanded Tendaho irrigation development project in Dubti woreda, Afar Region. Afar Region President Awel Arba and Water and Environment Minister Dr. Abraham Belay attended the event. The project has a capacity for 60,000 hectares, with 33,000 hectares now ready for irrigation.

Ato Adem Farah, head of the prime minister's office democracy coordination center, stated that reforms over the past nine years in all sectors have benefited the country and its people. He made these remarks in Addis Ababa following Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's evaluation of the third 100 days and rainy season performance.
