صرح مدير إقليم عفار، أول أربا، بأن شعب الإقليم قد نال حقوق الإدارة الذاتية والملكية الكاملة في السياسة والحوكمة عقب الإصلاحات الأخيرة.

أدلى أول أربا بهذه التصريحات في مسيرة دعم لحزب الازدهار أقيمت في سميرا لوجيا، منطقة دوبتي بإقليم عفار. وأشار إلى أن الإيرادات الإقليمية نمت من 790 مليون بر في عام 2010 وفقاً للتقويم الإثيوبي إلى 8 مليارات بر. كما توسعت مساحة الأراضي الزراعية المستصلحة من 53 ألف هكتار إلى 138 ألف هكتار. وتغطي زراعة القمح حالياً أكثر من 16500 هكتار بحصاد بلغ 276 ألف قنطار، كما بدأ تشغيل مركز جديد للخدمات الموحدة لتحسين الخدمات العامة.
