Les experts en santé à Addis-Abeba ont déclaré le 4 Miyazya 2018 (calendrier éthiopien) que des précautions appropriées sont essentielles concernant l'alimentation durant l'Aïd el-Fitr. Manger des aliments avariés accroît considérablement les risques d'indigestion, de ballonnements, de crampes d'estomac et de diarrhée. Les professionnels soulignent l'importance de maintenir l'hygiène lors de la préparation des repas, d'éviter de manipuler les aliments avec des mains sales et de s'assurer que les produits ne sont pas avariés. Ils conseillent de manger progressivement pendant les repas et d'éviter complètement les aliments gras. S'abstenir de consommer de l'alcool est également nécessaire pour protéger sa santé et celle de sa famille contre les maladies, selon les experts. Ces mesures visent à prévenir les problèmes de santé durant les célébrations de l'Aïd.
