Les Kenyans invités à éviter les voyages dans les pays touchés par Ebola

Les autorités sanitaires kényanes ont exhorté les citoyens à reporter tout voyage non essentiel en Ouganda et en République démocratique du Congo en raison de la hausse des cas d'Ebola dans ces pays.

La secrétaire principale à la Santé, Mary Muthoni, a émis cet avis le 30 mai lors d'une inspection à l'aéroport international Jomo Kenyatta. Elle a déclaré que les Kenyans devraient éviter les déplacements inutiles vers les zones touchées jusqu'à ce que la situation s'améliore.

La République démocratique du Congo a enregistré entre 900 et 1 077 cas suspects d'Ebola, dont 121 à 134 infections confirmées. L'Ouganda a confirmé neuf cas, dont beaucoup sont liés à des voyages en provenance de la RDC.

Le secrétaire de cabinet à la Santé, Adan Duale, a indiqué que le Kenya avait activé son système national de gestion des incidents et renforcé la surveillance aux points d'entrée. Aucun cas d'Ebola n'a été détecté au Kenya après que 18 tests ont donné des résultats négatifs.
