HANOI—Following his Wednesday summit with Vietnam's top leader To Lam, President Lee Jae-myung meets Prime Minister Le Minh Hung on Thursday to advance bilateral ties in supply chains, infrastructure and energy. Twelve MOUs were signed on energy, tech and culture, with a large business delegation in tow.

During Wednesday's bilateral summit in Hanoi with To Lam, Vietnam's state president and Communist Party general secretary, the leaders agreed to deepen cooperation on energy security and supply chains amid Middle East tensions, as per their joint statement.

Building on this, Lee meets Prime Minister Le Minh Hung on Thursday, followed by talks with National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and a business forum. The delegation features key executives: Samsung's Lee Jae-yong, SK's Chey Tae-won, LG's Koo Kwang-mo and Lotte's Shin Dong-bin.

On the sidelines, 12 memorandums of understanding were inked, including Korea Electric Power Corporation and Vietnam National Industry-Energy Group deals for nuclear power studies and financing. Others covered AI, cybersecurity, power grid upgrades, infrastructure, semiconductors and culture.

To Lam endorsed Korean investments in these areas. Both reaffirmed a $150 billion trade target by 2030 (from $94.6 billion in 2025). Lee outlined Korean Peninsula peace initiatives, gaining To Lam's support.
