La capitale du Huila marque son anniversaire aujourd'hui par une série d'activités civiques et culturelles organisées par la mairie.

La mairie de Neiva, dirigée par le maire German Casagua Bonilla, a programmé une journée d'activités pour marquer les 414 ans de la fondation de la ville.

Le code vestimentaire établi est le blanc formel. Les activités comprennent une messe à 8h00 du matin dans l'église coloniale du centre, suivie d'un défilé civique et folklorique qui débutera au centre de congrès José Eustasio Rivera.

Le défilé empruntera plusieurs rues jusqu'à atteindre le Parque Santander, où à 9h00 du matin une offrande florale sera déposée devant le buste de Diego de Ospina y Medinilla, fondateur de Neiva en 1612.
