Neiva deviendra la première ville d'Amérique latine à utiliser l'hydrolyse alcaline

La société de services funéraires La Ascensión a annoncé que Neiva sera pionnière en Amérique latine dans l'utilisation de l'hydrolyse alcaline comme alternative pour la disposition finale des défunts. L'ouverture du nouveau centre de services est prévue pour le premier trimestre 2027.

L'entreprise, qui approche de son 25e anniversaire, a choisi Neiva pour investir dans un complexe de haute technologie qui inclura l'aquamation par hydrolyse alcaline. Cette technologie a été récemment autorisée en Colombie par le ministère de la Santé en vertu de la résolution 717 datée du 21 avril 2026.

Le processus utilise de l'eau à haute température, des composés alcalins et de la pression pour décomposer les tissus mous, ne laissant que des fragments d'os qui sont ensuite transformés en cendres pour les familles. Le PDG Guillermo J. Chaves Ocaña a noté que le centre comprendra cinq salons funéraires, une chapelle, des laboratoires et un espace pour 5 000 urnes.

L'installation sera située dans le pôle Medical City-Empresarial Primavera et sera équipée de panneaux solaires ainsi que de systèmes de récupération des eaux de pluie. L'entreprise opère dans plus de 20 villes colombiennes et a récemment reçu un prix international pour son centre de recherche basé sur l'intelligence artificielle.
