Neiva será la primera ciudad de Latinoamérica con hidrólisis alcalina

La empresa La Ascensión anunció que Neiva será pionera en América Latina al implementar la hidrólisis alcalina como alternativa para el destino final de los fallecidos. El nuevo centro de servicios se proyecta para el primer trimestre de 2027.

La compañía, próxima a cumplir 25 años, eligió Neiva para su inversión en un complejo de alta tecnología que incluirá la acuamación mediante hidrólisis alcalina. Esta tecnología fue autorizada recientemente en Colombia por el Ministerio de Salud mediante la resolución 717 del 21 de abril de 2026.

El procedimiento utiliza agua a altas temperaturas, compuestos alcalinos y presión para desintegrar los tejidos blandos, dejando solo los restos óseos que luego se transforman en cenizas para las familias. El CEO Guillermo J. Chaves Ocaña destacó que el centro ofrecerá cinco salas de velación, una capilla, laboratorios y espacios para 5.000 urnas.

La sede se ubicará en el nodo Medical City-Empresarial Primavera e incorporará paneles solares y sistemas de recolección de aguas lluvias. La empresa opera en más de 20 ciudades colombianas y recientemente ganó un premio internacional por su centro de investigación basado en inteligencia artificial.
