Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds ont interprété la chanson des Pogues "A Rainy Night in Soho" en hommage au regretté Shane MacGowan lors d'un concert au château de Malahide, en Irlande, mercredi.

Cave, qui entretenait une amitié étroite avec MacGowan, a chanté le titre tout en jouant du piano. Sa prestation était marquée par un léger tremblement dans la voix lors des paroles nostalgiques. Le violoniste Warren Ellis a ajouté un solo chargé d'émotion. Après avoir terminé, Cave a remarqué "Wow, d'accord" avec un petit rire. Cette performance a servi d'élégie pour MacGowan, décédé en 2023. Le concert a également marqué la première interprétation de "Train Long-Suffering" depuis 1989 et de "Stranger Than Kindness" depuis 2015. D'autres artistes ont repris la chanson des Pogues ces dernières années, notamment U2 en 2023 ainsi que Bruce Springsteen et le E Street Band sur un futur album hommage.
