Le président William Ruto a mis en avant le programme de logement abordable après avoir signé le projet de loi de finances 2026.

Le gouvernement du président William Ruto devrait avoir dépensé environ 220 milliards de shillings pour le programme de logement abordable d'ici la fin de son premier mandat l'année prochaine. Plus de 274 000 logements sont en cours de construction et le programme a créé plus de 640 000 emplois directs et indirects. Le budget du secteur du logement est passé de 64,2 milliards de shillings au cours des trois dernières années de l'administration d'Uhuru Kenyatta à plus de 102 milliards de shillings au cours des trois premières années du mandat de Ruto. Il devrait atteindre 138 milliards de shillings pour l'exercice financier commençant le 1er juillet. Ruto a déclaré que ce programme demeure un pilier essentiel de la transformation économique. Cela marque un contraste avec l'héritage de l'ancien président Uhuru Kenyatta, qui était centré sur des investissements majeurs dans les routes, le rail et l'énergie.
