Sánchez décore la rapporteuse de l'ONU Francesca Albanese pour son travail sur Gaza

Le président Pedro Sánchez a remis aujourd'hui l'Ordre du Mérite civil à Francesca Albanese au palais de la Moncloa pour avoir documenté les violations du droit international.

La cérémonie a eu lieu ce jeudi. Sánchez et Albanese ont passé en revue la situation en Palestine et la nécessité de mettre fin immédiatement à la violence.

La veille, le chef du gouvernement a envoyé une lettre à la Commission européenne. Il a demandé l'activation du blocage des statuts pour annuler les sanctions américaines contre Albanese ainsi que contre des juges et procureurs de la Cour pénale internationale.

« L'Espagne ne détourne pas le regard. Sanctionner ceux qui défendent la justice internationale met en péril l'ensemble du système des droits de l'homme », a déclaré Sánchez sur les réseaux sociaux.

Albanese, qui est en visite en Espagne et a rencontré plusieurs ministres, a remercié le gouvernement pour son soutien face aux sanctions de l'administration Trump.
