Les autorités sanitaires de l'État de São Paulo ont écarté le deuxième cas suspect d'Ebola dans l'État cette année. La patiente, une Brésilienne de 31 ans de retour de la République démocratique du Congo, a été testée négative.

La femme a présenté des symptômes tels que de la fièvre et de la diarrhée après son retour de la République démocratique du Congo. Elle a été admise à l'Instituto de Infectologia Emílio Ribas pour observation.

L'Instituto Adolfo Lutz a effectué des tests de biologie moléculaire sur deux échantillons. Les deux résultats étaient négatifs pour le virus Ebola.

La patiente reste hospitalisée pour le traitement d'une gastro-entérocolite aiguë et présente une évolution clinique favorable. Il s'agit du deuxième cas suspect écarté à São Paulo en 2026, après qu'un homme de 37 ans a fait l'objet d'une enquête début juin avec un résultat négatif.

Les autorités précisent que le risque d'Ebola au Brésil est très faible, mais que les cas répondant aux critères cliniques et épidémiologiques font l'objet d'une enquête rapide.
