Le groupe japonais SBI Group a acquis une participation majoritaire dans la plateforme d'échange de cryptomonnaies singapourienne Coinhako. L'accord, annoncé vendredi après l'obtention des autorisations réglementaires, s'inscrit dans une stratégie plus large visant à bâtir un réseau transfrontalier d'actifs numériques à travers l'Asie.

SBI Holdings a reçu l'approbation de l'Autorité monétaire de Singapour (MAS) pour finaliser l'acquisition. Coinhako détient une licence d'institution de paiement majeure (Major Payment Institution) et exerce ses activités à Singapour.

Cette opération fait suite à un partenariat conclu jeudi avec Ondo Finance pour tokeniser des actions japonaises et d'autres actifs en utilisant le stablecoin JPYSC de SBI. SBI s'est également associé à la Solana Foundation, qui prendra une participation au capital d'une nouvelle entité renommée SBI Solana Global, axée sur les stablecoins et la tokenisation d'actifs réels.

Yoshitaka Kitao, PDG de SBI Holdings, a déclaré que le groupe cherche à établir un corridor mondial pour les actifs numériques en connectant les plateformes d'échange à travers le monde. La stratégie comprend l'achat prévu de la plateforme Bitbank, basée à Tokyo, pour 289 millions de dollars, dont la finalisation est attendue en octobre, sous réserve de l'approbation des autorités réglementaires.
