La minorité du Sénat exhorte Bato dela Rosa à se rendre à la CPI

Cinq sénateurs ont déposé une résolution le 12 mai 2026, exhortant le sénateur Ronald 'Bato' dela Rosa à se rendre volontairement aux autorités suite au mandat d'arrêt émis contre lui par la Cour pénale internationale.

Dans la résolution n° 395, le bloc minoritaire du Sénat a souligné que le Sénat n'a aucune autorité constitutionnelle ou statutaire pour offrir une garde protectrice ou un sanctuaire contre une arrestation légale. La résolution a été signée par l'ancien président du Sénat Tito Sotto, le sénateur Bam Aquino, la sénatrice Risa Hontiveros, le sénateur Ping Lacson et le sénateur Kiko Pangilinan. Elle a été déposée après que Dela Rosa s'est présenté au Sénat le 11 mai 2026, le jour même où la CPI a confirmé le mandat émis en novembre 2025. Les sénateurs ont noté que le privilège d'immunité contre l'arrestation est limité par la Constitution aux infractions passibles d'une peine d'emprisonnement ne dépassant pas six ans.
