Un Ukrainien soupçonné de tortures à Izoliatsia mis en examen en France

Un ressortissant ukrainien vivant en France depuis 2021 a été mis en examen et placé en détention provisoire pour crimes contre l'humanité, a annoncé vendredi le Parquet national antiterroriste.

Yehven B., né en 1979 à Donetsk, est soupçonné d'avoir participé à des tortures entre 2016 et 2019 dans la prison d'Izoliatsia, un ancien centre d'art contemporain transformé en lieu de détention par des séparatistes prorusses.

Le Parquet national antiterroriste indique qu'il aurait extorqué des aveux, infligé des violences et des actes inhumains, y compris des violences sexuelles, sur des prisonniers. D'anciens détenus ont été auditionnés en France et en Ukraine grâce à une coopération judiciaire.

Izoliatsia est décrit par Amnesty International et le Haut-Commissariat des Nations Unies aux droits de l'homme comme un site où des centaines de personnes ont été torturées, notamment depuis l'invasion russe de 2022. Donetsk est actuellement occupée par la Russie.

L'homme a été placé en garde à vue le 7 avril avant sa mise en examen et sa détention provisoire.
