Une bouée houlomotrice testée au large de la côte basque

Une grande bouée est actuellement testée au large de la côte basque espagnole afin de produire de l'électricité à partir des vagues. La société australienne Carnegie Clean Energy dirige ce projet. Cette technologie pourrait contribuer à l'approvisionnement énergétique de l'Europe.

Dans l'Atlantique, au large de la côte basque espagnole, une imposante bouée se déplace sous l'eau au rythme des vagues. Ancrée au fond marin par des câbles, elle utilise ce mouvement circulaire pour actionner un générateur.

Jonathan Fiévez, PDG de Carnegie Clean Energy, déclare : « Nous transformons les vagues en électricité. » L'installation produit de l'énergie à partir d'une source renouvelable encore très peu exploitée.

Cette technologie pourrait rendre l'Europe plus indépendante des importations d'énergies fossiles. Il reste cependant un problème fondamental à résoudre pour l'industrie.
