The Gulf Energy Group announced a recruitment drive on June 11, 2026, for roles in engineering, operations, finance, and other areas. The positions support the South Lokichar Basin project in Turkana, described by the company as Kenya's first commercial oil development.
Gulf Energy E&P BV stated it is working toward first oil by December 1, 2026. Most roles will be based in Turkana, with some in Nairobi and Mombasa. The Lokichar Basin is believed to hold over 560 million barrels of reserves.
