Gulf Energy announces 39 jobs for Turkana oil project

Gulf Energy Group has advertised 39 positions to support Kenya's first commercial oil production, scheduled for December 1, 2026.

The Gulf Energy Group announced a recruitment drive on June 11, 2026, for roles in engineering, operations, finance, and other areas. The positions support the South Lokichar Basin project in Turkana, described by the company as Kenya's first commercial oil development.

Gulf Energy E&P BV stated it is working toward first oil by December 1, 2026. Most roles will be based in Turkana, with some in Nairobi and Mombasa. The Lokichar Basin is believed to hold over 560 million barrels of reserves.

Applications must be submitted through gulf.energy/careers by June 26, 2026, at 5 PM. The company encouraged local residents to apply and highlighted graduate trainee opportunities in engineering and geoscience fields.
