Madison Keys withdraws from paris final with thigh injury

Madison Keys retired from the final of the WTA 125 event in Paris against Diane Parry after a thigh injury flared up. The American had taken the first set but could not continue in the second. The withdrawal comes days before the start of Roland Garros.

Keys trailed 2-3 in the opening set when she called for a medical timeout to treat the thigh problem. Rain then halted play for several hours. When the match resumed she won four straight games to claim the set 6-3. In the second set, tied at 3-3, she faced three break points while serving and summoned the physio before retiring, handing the title to Parry.
