A Minnesota man received a jail sentence this week after pleading guilty to leaving the scene of a crash that killed a pedestrian in March.
Rolando Odir Miranda Martinez, 59, was sentenced Thursday to 180 days in jail for leaving the scene of a collision resulting in death. He received credit for 97 days already served in pretrial detention.
The crash occurred around 2 a.m. on March 7 near the intersection of Cliff Road and Nichols Road in Eagan. Miranda Martinez was driving a Honda CR-V that struck 40-year-old Leslie Anne Youngberg as she walked with a witness.
He fled the scene but was located later that day at his home. Police arrested him after he left in an Uber.
Miranda Martinez had pleaded guilty to the charge in April. The sentence means he will avoid prison time.
