Busan-based Samjin Foods has opened its first fishcake cafe in China, located in Changsha, Hunan province. The store drew crowds during a preview event on April 16.
Samjin Foods opened the store inside Taskin Mall at Desiqin City Plaza in the Yuhua District of Changsha. The commercial area records average daily foot traffic of 60,000 people and attracts many visitors in their 20s and 30s.
The two-story cafe includes a large media wall displaying the Busan coast and features localized items such as five-spice beef croquette and mala lobster croquette. During the April 16 preview, more than 600 people visited and 82 percent made a purchase.
The company has also placed its products in the Freshippo retail platform and is taking part in SIAL Shanghai 2026 this week. It continues to expand in Taiwan through ongoing pop-up stores.
“The first Samjin store in China will serve as an important milestone in spreading Korea’s fishcake cafe culture and Busan’s symbolism in the food industry to the local Chinese market,” a Samjin official said.
