Tesla initiated the rollout of Full Self-Driving (FSD) v14.2 on November 21, 2025, starting with Early Access Program members before expanding to more owners by November 22. This version builds on v14.1.7, the prior iteration, by resolving major complaints like hesitation and brake stabbing, particularly at four-way stop intersections where the vehicle previously failed to proceed assertively amid oncoming traffic.
In a 62-minute test drive reviewed by Teslarati, v14.2 showed no instances of these issues, demonstrating improved assertiveness and patience in traffic scenarios. The update also enhances overall smoothness, with clearer distinctions between speed profiles—Standard, for instance, now feels more relaxed compared to Hurry—allowing drivers to identify the active profile without visual cues. An upgraded neural network vision encoder leverages higher-resolution camera imagery to better manage emergency vehicles, road obstacles, and human gestures, such as stopping or waving vehicles forward.
A new FSD Stats menu tracks total miles driven and FSD-enabled miles since v14.2, though it is not retroactive and cannot be reset. User interface improvements allow setting speed profiles and arrival options before activating FSD, streamlining pre-drive configurations. However, some testers noted a slight regression in parking quality, with vehicles positioning suboptimally in spots, though Tesla's release notes indicate further enhancements are planned.
Hours after the v14.2 rollout, Elon Musk posted on X: “14.3 is where the last big piece of the puzzle finally lands,” hinting at transformative capabilities without specifying a timeline. v14.1 had launched in late 2025, suggesting v14.3 could arrive before year-end, possibly with the Holiday Update.
