Banco del Bienestar accumulated 25 fines from the CNBV between January 2025 and June 2026 totaling more than 8.8 million pesos.
According to public records from the Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores, the sanctions stemmed from failures to comply with the regulatory regime, deficiencies in risk management, internal control issues and delays in submitting required information.
The amounts ranged from 26,886 pesos to 1,443,300 pesos. The Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público stated that the fines are administrative and relate to observations from 2023 that have already been addressed.
The ministry clarified that the sanctions do not affect client resources or social programs. The bank had previously sought legal protection, alleging damage to its image from the publication of the fines.
