BGN Ensures Transparency for Free Nutritious Meals Program

The National Nutrition Agency committed to making the Free Nutritious Meals program more transparent so the public can oversee SPPG kitchens.

BGN Deputy Head Agustina Arumsari stated the agency is evaluating MBG program beneficiaries. The evaluation aims to reduce recipients to save state budget before fixing kitchen governance.

Arumsari emphasized BGN will maximize items already purchased in 2025 such as laptops and CCTV. No new procurements will occur in 2026 if their function is identical.

She also noted BGN may cut senior high school students and junior high students from expensive schools as MBG recipients. This step has been consulted with the Health Ministry.
