NSE and Nuvama file suit over mistaken share transfer

NSE and Nuvama Wealth Finance filed a civil suit in the Delhi High Court in May 2025 over the erroneous transfer of 5,000 NSE shares to an individual's demat account.

The shares were transferred to Kashmiri Lal Rana's account on December 28, 2023, without any purchase request or payment, according to the filing.

The suit names NSDL as a defendant and alleges the transfer occurred despite the absence of corresponding consideration.

Details emerged in the draft red herring prospectus for the NSE IPO.
