Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli performs a free concert today, April 18, 2026, at Mexico City's Zócalo to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his album Romanza. He is joined by Los Ángeles Azules and Ximena Sariñana. The event starts at 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast live on open TV and streaming.
Mexico City's Secretariat of Culture organizes Andrea Bocelli's concert at Plaza de la Constitución, site of previous major events like Shakira's show. The performance marks the 30th anniversary of the 1996 release of Romanza, featuring hits such as 'Con te partirò', 'Vivo por ella', and 'La luna che non c’é'. "It will be a magical evening that reaffirms Mexico City as the world's cultural capital", said Clara Brugada, the capital's head of government.
Guests include Los Ángeles Azules, cumbia icons from Iztapalapa, and Ximena Sariñana, a leading voice in Mexican alternative pop. Plata, the organizing bank, highlighted the genre fusion on social media: “Can you imagine that fusion? We can't either, but we can't wait to hear how it sounds".
High attendance is expected, so authorities advise arriving early. Nearest Metro stations: Zócalo/Tenochtitlán (Line 2), Pino Suárez (Line 1), Allende (Line 2), and San Juan de Letrán (Line 8); or Metrobús at Museo de la Ciudad (Line 4).
