DDA launches portal for transit-oriented development projects

The Delhi Development Authority opened an online portal on Wednesday for developers to seek approvals under the revised transit-oriented development policy.

The Delhi Development Authority launched the portal on Wednesday to begin implementing its revised transit-oriented development policy. Developers must first obtain TOD plot approval before submitting building plans for clearance.

The policy, notified on April 6, covers 207 square kilometres along metro corridors and areas within 500 metres of Regional Rapid Transit System and railway stations. It also includes 80 square kilometres of land pooling parcels, low-density residential zones and unauthorised colonies for the first time.

A single TOD committee led by the DDA Vice-Chairman will handle clearances from multiple agencies. Charges from bodies such as the Delhi Jal Board and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi have been combined into one fee.
