韓国国家遺産庁は7月3日、本名をクォン・ジヨンとするG-DRAGONが同会議の顔を務めることになったと発表した。韓国が世界遺産条約に加盟したのは1988年であり、同国で委員会会議が開催されるのは38年ぶりとなる。
G-DRAGONは2024年に自身の著作権を寄付して「JusPeace財団」を設立し、現在名誉会長を務めている。彼は来週金曜日にユネスコと共同で立ち上げる世界遺産基金のための資金調達キャンペーン「Heritage in Peace」を支援する予定だ。
同庁は、K-POPの枠を超えた彼の世界的な影響力に触れ、認知度を高めるための「理想的なパートナー」であると評した。G-DRAGONの代理人は「世界遺産は全人類が守るべき共有の財産である」と述べている。
