Meta suffers outage affecting Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram

Meta services experienced outages this Friday, June 12, starting early in the morning.

According to Downdetector, problems with Facebook began at 7:15 a.m. Forty-seven percent of reports cited issues with the app, 34 percent with logging in and 15 percent with server connection.

Instagram recorded outages starting at 7:21 a.m. The main problems were 63 percent in the app, 17 percent logging in and 15 percent with server connection.

For WhatsApp the peak impact occurred at 8:23 a.m., mainly on WhatsApp Web. Users reported being unable to send or receive messages, make calls or share multimedia files.

Users on the social network X shared complaints and memes about the situation. So far Meta has not responded regarding the causes of the outage.
