韓国国防省は火曜日、最終準備段階で安全上の問題が確認されたため、予定されていた固体燃料宇宙ロケット「Mir」の打ち上げを延期したと発表した。
同ロケットは、済州島南岸沖の海上バージから午後2時に打ち上げられる予定だった。4段式ロケットの完全な形での試験打ち上げは今回が初めてとなるはずだった。
同省はメディア向けのメッセージの中で、最終準備の過程で問題が発生したため打ち上げを中止したと伝えた。新たな打ち上げ日程については後日発表される。
韓国は2021年から、低軌道に小型偵察衛星を投入するための固体燃料ロケットを開発してきた。2022年と2023年には3段式の構成で試験が行われており、前回は2023年12月に行われた。
