6月18日夜、埼玉県加須市の国道125号で、埼玉県警察が設置した携帯型レーダー式速度違反自動撮影装置が盗まれた。
事件は午後10時50分から11時24分の間に発生した。2人の警察官が装置を三脚に設置し、約100メートル離れた場所から監視していた。
装置は縦横50センチメートル、高さ20センチメートル程度で、重さは約20キログラム。9百万円の価値があり、10台の速度違反車のナンバープレート写真が保存されていたという。
