Erroneous childcare fee invoices sent out in Uppsala

Uppsala Municipality has mistakenly sent incorrect monthly childcare fee invoices to some guardians via Kivra on March 18, 2026. The invoices concern fees from 2025 and should not be paid. Those who have paid will receive refunds within a few banking days.

Uppsala Municipality reports that erroneous monthly invoices for childcare fees were mistakenly sent to a number of guardians via the digital payment service Kivra on March 18, 2026. These invoices pertain to childcare fees from 2025, with some guardians receiving multiple ones at once. The municipality confirms the error specifically for Kivra users and apologizes: “We apologize for what has happened.” Guardians who received invoices dated March 18 for January, March, and April 2025 are advised to ignore them in Kivra and not pay. “We are very sorry for what happened,” the municipality states. If an erroneous invoice has been paid, the amount will be refunded within a few banking days to the account registered in the national account registry, managed by Swedbank. Guardians without a registered account will receive the refund via a payout notice. They can check or register their account number on Swedbank's website.
