Final Fantasy VII Revelation replaces Sephiroth English voice actor

Square Enix has confirmed a change to the English voice cast for Final Fantasy VII Revelation. Tyler Hoechlin will not return as Sephiroth due to scheduling conflicts. Travis Willingham has been cast in the role instead.

Director Naoki Hamaguchi stated that Hoechlin, who voiced Sephiroth in Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth, was unavailable during production of the third game. The change was first noticed by fans after a trailer shown at Summer Game Fest. Willingham, known for roles including Thor in Marvel Rivals and Roy Mustang in Fullmetal Alchemist, shared his excitement on social media. He wrote that he is honored to join the cast and approaches the part with respect. Some fans expressed disappointment over the switch at this stage. Others viewed it as an opportunity for a fresh interpretation of the character ahead of the trilogy's conclusion.
