Metro restores service on line 4 after closure due to person on tracks

Metro company reported the restoration of service on line 4 on Tuesday afternoon after the closure of seven stations caused by a person on the tracks. Service normalization was announced at 18:41 hours.

Shortly before 18:00, Metro announced via its social media channels the temporary closure of stations Tobalaba, Cristóbal Colón, Francisco Bilbao, Príncipe de Gales, Simón Bolívar, Plaza Egaña and Los Orientales. The measure also suspended transfers to line 1 at Tobalaba and to line 3 at Plaza Egaña.

The Red de Movilidad reinforced bus services between Tobalaba and Grecia to assist affected passengers. At 18:41 hours the company confirmed that all line 4 stations were operational again.

Metro noted that train frequency could take several minutes to return to normal after the emergency was resolved.
