New Jersey man pleads guilty to murdering pregnant girlfriend

Boris Lainez-Rosales admitted to beating his pregnant girlfriend to death with a baseball bat and staging the scene to look like an accident. The 28-year-old from Pleasantville entered the plea last week in connection with the December 2024 killing of Leslianette Quintana-Betancourt.

Lainez-Rosales pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree murder. Prosecutors said he assaulted the 25-year-old victim with a baseball bat at their home on December 2, 2024, causing her death and the loss of their unborn child. He then attempted to clean up evidence and claimed she had fallen down the stairs.
