Ollie Bearman has outperformed teammate Esteban Ocon in the opening three rounds of the 2026 Formula 1 season, sitting seventh in the drivers' standings with 17 points to Ocon's one. Former F1 driver Karun Chandhok praised Bearman's form, saying it keeps him in contention for a future Ferrari seat. Bearman, a Ferrari Driver Academy member, earned his Haas role after a strong debut substitute appearance in 2024.
Bearman stepped in for Carlos Sainz at the 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix and scored points on debut, leading to further outings with Haas that season. That performance secured him a full-time seat with the American team for 2025, where he outperformed the more experienced Ocon as a rookie. He has maintained that edge into 2026, with Chandhok noting on the Sky Sports F1 Show: “Ollie Bearman has done a brilliant job, really picked up from where he left off last season where he outperformed Esteban Ocon. ”
