Users rage against new Blocket website

Blocket launched its new website on Thursday, but users are unimpressed. Many describe it as chaotic and illogical, demanding the return of the old version. The company acknowledges the criticism but has no plans to revert.

Blocket launched its new website on Thursday with promises of a simpler and more enjoyable experience for finding, buying, and selling. The site is described by the company as built on a new platform with better performance and more features, including the ability to follow sellers. However, the reactions have been overwhelmingly negative.

Blocket's Facebook post about the launch has gathered over 880 comments, most of them critical. Users complain that the site is hard to navigate, the search function is cumbersome, and irrelevant results appear. Searching for vehicles has become particularly difficult due to missing filters. One user writes: 'It can't be used. Blocket just became the worst app I've ever seen.' Another: 'It became really bad... switch back.'

The Facebook group 'We who demand the old Blocket back' has grown to over 450 members since the launch. Jan Uddgren, 69, a frequent user, says: 'It's a disaster. I mean, it's not logical. I'm disappointed. It worked great as it was.' He has switched to Facebook Marketplace instead.

Marcus Stråte, who has bought a motorhome, cars, and a boat via Blocket, finds searching by category and geographic area much harder now. 'Ads big as saucers pop up.' He does appreciate the feature to follow sellers, however.

Communications manager Kitty Ehn acknowledges that the change evokes emotions. 'We are proud of the new Blocket and all the work that has brought us here, but we are far from finished,' she writes in an email. The company welcomes feedback and plans improvements but refuses to revert to the old version. CEO Christian Printzell Halvorsen emphasizes that it is a completely new Blocket with user experience in focus, including an AI assistant and new search experience.

According to another source, the changes were launched on Tuesday, but most reports point to Thursday.
