A 43-year-old man was shot dead by his 41-year-old brother on Saturday afternoon (20) in Guarujá, on the São Paulo coast. The argument reportedly stemmed from water usage in their shared home, according to a witness. The suspect fled on a motorcycle after firing four shots at the victim.
On the afternoon of Saturday (December 20, 2025), a 43-year-old man was shot dead in Guarujá, on the São Paulo coast. The crime took place on Rua Suzano in the Vila Áurea neighborhood, Vicente de Carvalho district. According to the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), the shooter was the victim's 41-year-old brother.
The victim had just stepped out of a truck cabin when he was hit by four shots. A witness saw the argument between the brothers, triggered by water consumption in their shared home. "A witness saw the crime and reported that the motive was an argument over water usage in the home shared by the brothers," the SSP stated.
The suspect fled the scene on a Honda Bros motorcycle. Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) teams were called but found the victim already deceased upon arrival. The case was logged at Guarujá's 1st Police District, where investigations continue.
This incident occurs amid the Summer Operation on the São Paulo coast, bolstering policing in the area. Guarujá, in the Baixada Santista region, gets special focus with 2,800 additional officers. The operation, the largest in state history, deploys 4,075 police and 436 vehicles, backed by R$ 55 million in funding. For the first time, it extends to health, mobility, and civil defense efforts to handle the expected 16.7 million summer visitors.
