Ariana Grande files lawsuit against alleged hackers

Ariana Grande has filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles court against anonymous hackers accused of stealing unreleased music, photos and videos. The suit seeks to unmask the individuals behind years of leaks.

The Grammy-winning artist filed the complaint Monday against defendants listed as John Doe. She alleges the hackers targeted her photographers and producers, stole materials including 45 songs in 2023 and hundreds more since 2011, and sold them on the dark web.

Grande accuses the hackers of invasion of privacy, violation of California computer hacking laws and conversion. Her lawyers stated the action aims to uncover the identities through subpoenas and hold the perpetrators accountable.

In a 2024 interview, Grande addressed prior leaks, saying of one stolen track, "I’ll see you in jail, literally." A representative noted the lawsuit is intended as a deterrent for similar acts against artists.
