Grupo armado ataca a Chemelil Sugar Academy e deixa quatro feridos

Um grupo armado invadiu a Chemelil Sugar Academy na manhã de quinta-feira, 18 de junho, ferindo quatro pessoas e roubando dinheiro e celulares.

O ataque ocorreu enquanto os alunos retornavam do recesso escolar na Chemelil Sugar Academy em Muhoroni, no condado de Kisumu.

Mais de 20 suspeitos entraram na escola armados com facões, porretes e arcos. Eles agrediram funcionários, invadiram as salas do diretor e do vice-diretor e fugiram para plantações de cana-de-açúcar próximas, em direção à área de Achego.

A polícia iniciou investigações e uma operação de busca. As quatro vítimas feridas sofreram lesões de tecidos moles e cortes, e estão recebendo tratamento no Hospital Subcondal de Nyang'oma.

A motivação permanece desconhecida, embora a escola esteja envolvida em uma disputa sobre o arrendamento da Fábrica de Açúcar de Chemelil.
