DCI prende cinco suspeitos ligados a quadrilha de roubo de veículos e gado no centro do Quênia

Detetives da Diretoria de Investigações Criminais (DCI) em Nyeri prenderam cinco suspeitos que seriam membros de uma quadrilha por trás de roubos de veículos e gado nos condados de Kirinyaga, Nyeri e Murang’a.

A operação começou após um veículo ter sido reportado como roubado na Delegacia de Polícia de Kiaruhiu. Os investigadores rastrearam o veículo e prenderam o líder da gangue enquanto ele planejava vendê-lo.

Durante o interrogatório, o suspeito levou os policiais até o veículo, que estava com placas falsas. A polícia interceptou então um veículo de fuga que transportava quatro cúmplices e recuperou dez cordas de sisal, um facão, duas facas, um porrete e uma chave micha.

A quadrilha também abatia gado na noite do roubo e vendia a carne por canais ilegais. Os suspeitos permanecem sob custódia aguardando a apresentação formal às autoridades, e as investigações continuam sobre as ligações do grupo com outros casos, incluindo um nos Tribunais de Kerugoya.
