Djokovic handed challenging Wimbledon draw with Sinner looming

Novak Djokovic received a demanding path at Wimbledon as the seventh seed, with potential meetings against top players on the way to a record 25th Grand Slam title.

The draw places the 39-year-old Serbian against Wu Yibing in the first round at the All England Club. Wu, ranked just inside the top 100, has limited grass-court experience.

Djokovic is projected to face Stefanos Tsitsipas in the second round and Arthur Rinderknech in the third. The fourth round could pit him against either Andrey Rublev or Joao Fonseca.

A quarterfinal matchup with third seed Felix Auger-Aliassime awaits if he advances that far. The projected semifinal opponent is defending champion Jannik Sinner, whom Djokovic beat in the Australian Open earlier this year.

Djokovic has not played a competitive match since May 29 and trained at Wimbledon on Thursday alongside Sinner. A possible final would be against second seed Alexander Zverev.
