Egypt allocates EGP 28bn to export support in FY2025/26

Egypt has allocated EGP 28 billion for export support in the 2025/26 fiscal year. This marks a 55 percent increase from the prior year. The announcement came from Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk during a joint committee meeting.

Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk made the statement at the first meeting of the joint committee between the Ministry of Finance and the Egyptian Exporters Association – Expolink. He said the allocation forms part of efforts to boost production, exports, and private sector investment.

Kouchouk noted that the state budget reflects priorities of driving economic growth and enhancing competitiveness. He added that the government is coordinating across ministries to create a more attractive business environment.

Rasha Abdel Aal, Head of the Egyptian Tax Authority, outlined new tax facilitation measures. These include extending the tax dispute settlement law until December and lengthening the suspension of value-added tax on machinery from two to four years.

Nevine Mansour, Adviser to the Minister of Finance, said the government has paid EGP 70 billion to exporters over six years. It aims to clear all outstanding export subsidy arrears within the next two years.
