Falun receives 4.7 million SEK state grant for wind power

Falun has been awarded 4.7 million kronor in state grants from the Swedish Energy Agency for wind power projects. The funds will support rural development initiatives in the municipality.

The Swedish Energy Agency has decided to distribute state grants to municipalities with wind turbines, and Falun is among the recipients. The municipality receives 4.7 million kronor for its wind power initiatives, according to Dala-Demokraten.

The grant will fund projects aimed at developing rural areas. Falun intends to use the funds to bolster local efforts linked to wind farms in the region.

"Falun får 4,7 miljoner kronor i statsbidrag från Energimyndigheten för sin satsning på vindkraft. Pengarna ska gå till projekt som utvecklar landsbygden," the newspaper reports, citing the agency's decision.

This support forms part of the Energy Agency's wider efforts to promote renewable energy in Swedish municipalities.
