Foreign chambers and MBC back Marcos economic plan

Foreign business groups and the Makati Business Club expressed support for President Marcos’ economic agenda in his fifth SONA but stressed the need for strong implementation and continued reforms.

The American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines welcomed Marcos’ focus on competitiveness, energy security and investment reforms in his fifth State of the Nation Address, noting alignment with Joint Foreign Chambers recommendations. It also backed EPIRA amendments and investments in nuclear energy and infrastructure.

The German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry highlighted regulatory efficiency and the expansion of free trade agreements. The Makati Business Club called for stronger implementation to achieve sustained growth.

Executive Secretary Ralph Recto described the SONA as the right blend of substance and not just empty rhetoric. The Senate and House of Representatives assured support for the administration’s legislative agenda.
