General Motors montará o Chevrolet Aveo na fábrica de Coahuila

A General Motors anunciou que montará o Chevrolet Aveo em sua fábrica de Ramos Arizpe, em Coahuila, a partir de 2027. A mudança faz parte do Plano México para reduzir as importações asiáticas e impulsionar a produção doméstica. O modelo está entre os mais vendidos do México.

Francisco Garza Rodríguez, presidente e CEO da General Motors de México, confirmou o projeto durante uma conferência na fábrica de Coahuila. Ele afirmou que a montagem do Chevrolet Groove começará em 2027, seguida pela do Aveo, que é um dos favoritos da presidente Claudia Sheinbaum. De acordo com dados do Inegi, o Aveo vendeu 61.064 unidades em 2025, ficando atrás apenas do Nissan Versa. Nos primeiros quatro meses de 2026, 23.726 unidades do Aveo foram vendidas. O secretário da Economia, Marcelo Ebrard, disse que a produção local de 80.000 veículos substituirá as importações asiáticas. O projeto visa fortalecer a indústria automotiva do México e criar empregos.
